The Mathiwos Wondu Foundation conducted its Annual Organizational Review Meeting at Nexus Hotel, bringing together board members, staff, and patients to reflect on the foundation’s progress and future direction.
During the meeting, Dr. Kunuz Abdela, Chairman of the General Assembly, highlighted that the foundation is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by the strong commitment and dedication of its workforce.

Dr. Yetnayet Abebe, Chairperson of the Board, emphasized that the challenges faced by the foundation have been turned into opportunities for success through strategic leadership and teamwork.

Presenting the annual report, Mr. Wondu Bekele, Chief Executive Director, outlined the foundation’s key achievements over the past year and shared plans for the coming year. He announced the upcoming implementation of the Healthy Africa Project, noting both the challenges encountered and the promising opportunities ahead. He also underscored the importance of the strong and positive working relationship between the board and staff in achieving the foundation’s goals.

The meeting served as an important platform to review performance, strengthen collaboration, and reaffirm the foundation’s commitment to improving public health outcomes.
Following this, the MWF Strategic Plan for 2026–2030 was presented by Mr. Zelalem Mengistu, Program Director. The plan builds on more than 20 years of impact and responds to the rising burden of NCDs, while remaining aligned with the SDGs and national health policies. The presentation was followed by an overview of the 2026 budget year and annual work plan, delivered by Mr. Lemma Mengistu, Operations Director, with a particular focus on the Healthy Africa Initiative. In addition, Mr. Eyob Mersha shared updates on the ERP and AI implementation currently underway at MWF. Participants engaged in detailed discussions, raising important questions and offering recommendations on the future direction of the organization. Insights were shared by board members, staff, and caregivers, ensuring a collective perspective on priorities moving forward.

A learning group exercise was then conducted across all three departments, providing space to reflect on major achievements, challenges, opportunities, and the way forward. The day concluded with fun and memorable games that strengthened team spirit.
The meeting was officially closed by Mr. Wondu, who reflected on the overall success of the event and reaffirmed the shared commitment to advancing MWF’s mission.
