MWF was invited to the Africa Think Tank Summit 2025, held from October 8–10 at the Sheraton Hotel.
We participated in an important session on Health Taxes on October 8 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, during a side event titled “Health Taxes as Smart Public Finance: Evidence, Equity, and Efficiency.”
The panel was led by ACBF in collaboration with WHO AFRO, Africa CDC, ATCA, World Bank and the University of Cape Town’s Tobacco Taxation Unit. The session focused on sharing reflections and evidence on the role of health taxes in promoting public health and sustainable financing
