The General Assembly of the Mathiwos Wondu Foundation began with a welcome address delivered by its Chairperson, Dr. Kunuz Abdela.
In his remarks, he stated that the foundation had accomplished numerous impactful activities over the past year and expressed his gratitude to the board leadership and staff.
He was also noted that the Foundation’s Chief Executive Director, Mr. Wondu Bekele, has been diligently carrying out his responsibilities while undergoing cancer treatment, and that the tangible progress achieved by the foundation has been widely recognized.
On his part, Mr. Wondu Bekele expressed his gratitude to God, who helped him remain strong throughout his treatment, as well as to all those who wished him well.
The Vice Chairperson of the Foundation’s Board, Mrs. Tadelech Debele, presented the annual performance report. In her report, she highlighted key achievements including the allocation of land by the government for the construction of the Healthy Africa Project, improvements in project implementation performance, initial steps taken toward digitalization, and efforts made in patient care.
The General Assembly reviewed and approved both the presented annual report and the external audit financial report. Members of the Assembly raised various comments and questions, which were addressed by the Chief Executive Director, Mr. Wondu Bekele.
Furthermore, the General Assembly also approved the detailed plans presented by Mr. Wondu Bekele regarding newly prepared regulations, directives, and the budget.
