በየዓመቱ እ.ኤ.አ በዲሴምበር 12 የሚከበረው የዓለም የሁሉን አቀፍ የጤና ሽፋን ቀን “የምንፈልገውን ዓለም መገንባት፤ ጤናማ የሆነ ወደፊት ለሁሉም” በሚል መርህ ክብርት ዶ/ር ሊያ ታደሰ የጤና ሚኒስትር የሆኑትና ሌሎችም ታላላቅ የመንግስት ሚኒስቴር ቢሮ ተወካዮች በተገኙበት በታህሳስ 11 ቀን በኢንተር ለግዥሪ ሆቴል በደመቀ ሁኔታ ተክብሯል፡፡ ቀኑን የኢትዮጵያ ተላላፊ ያልሆኑ ህመሞች ማህበራት ህብረት ከጤና ሚኒስቴር፣ ከክርስቲያን በጎ አድራጎትና ልማት ማህበራት ህብረት፣ ከየስነ-ተዋልዶ ጤና ማህበራት ህብረት፣ከኢንተርናሽናል እኢንስቲቲውት ፎር ፕራይመሪ ሄልዝ ኬር ኢትዩጵያ እንዲሁም ከሴቭ ዘችልድረን ጋር በመተባበር አክብሯል፡፡
በዕለቱ በተገኙ የክብር እንግዶች ዕለቱን አስመልክቶ ንግግሮች የተደረጉ ሲሆን የመጀመሪያ ደረጃ የጤና አገልግሎት፣ የጤና መድህን ዕቅድ፣ አስፈላጊ የጤና አገልግሎት ፓኬጆች ተግዳሮቶችና የቀጣይ መንገድ እንዲሁም ብሄራዊ ትብብር ላይ ባተኮሩ ርዕሶች ላይ ውይይት ተካሂዶ ዕለቱ በተሳካ ሁኔታ ተጠናቋል፡፡
International Universal Health Coverage Day was commemorated in Ethiopia.
International Universal Health Coverage Day, which is celebrated every year on December 12, was celebrated on December 20 at the Inter Luxury Hotel with the theme of “Building the World We Want, A Healthy Future for All” in the presence Dr. Lia Tadesse, Minister of Health, and other representatives from major government ministries. The day was commemorated with the collaboration of Consortium of Ethiopian Non-Communicable Diseases Association, Ministry of Health, Consortium of Christian Relief and Development Associations, Consortium of Reproductive Health Associations, International Institute for Primary Health Care-Ethiopia, and Save the Children.
The landmark program of the day is the official launching of UHC/NCD in Ethiopia qualitative research report and three policy briefs on finance, access, and quality of NCDs in Ethiopia.
With speeches made regarding the day by the guests of honor and panel discussions held on topics focusing on the progress of primary health services, health insurance plan, challenges, and the way forward for essential health service packages and national cooperation, the commemoration was an overall success.
