Ms. Catharine Grimes, BMSF President and I-ELCAP team working visit to Ethiopia.

Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation (BMSF)President, Mrs.Catharine Grimes, International Early Lung and Cardiac Action Program (IELCAP)and Global Hematology Oncology Pediatric Excellence (Global HOPE) working visit to Ethiopia held from Oct 21 – Oct 25,2024.

The team met H.E Dr.Dreje Duguma,State Minister of Health,officials of Black Lion and St.Paul hospitals and Lung Cancer Control Project /MLCCP/ led by MWECS and implementing partners. They had very productive discussions with Department Heads ,Coordinators , Radiologist/Surgeon/Pathologist/Pulmonologist CT scanners in Chest and TB Clinics.

The world renowned radiologists from Mount Sinai and Computer Scientist gave briefing and shared their more than 30 years world class experience to staffs of both Black Lion and St.Paul hospital.

Finally had consultative meeting with working group consisting of Ministry of Health and AI Institute on how to cost effectively us AI in Health System Strengthening and Management.

I-ELCAP is the first of its kind in Africa,to implement the project,project agreement signed between MWECS and Ministry of Health and MoU will be signed between MWECS, Black Lion and St. Paul Hospitals.

MWECS team,and Mrs.Catharine Grimes, BMSF President and MLCCP implementing partners jointly reviewed BMSF Supported PHASE II project and Implementation of the International Early Lung Project and agreed on how to strengthen the implementation of the projects.
