ማቲዎስ ወንዱ-የኢትዮጵያ ካንሰር ሶሳይቲ ከ6.5 ሚሊየን ብር በላይ ወጭ ያደረገበት የጥቁር አንበሳ የ15 የደረት ክፍሎች እድሳትና የብሮኖስኮፒ እንዲሁም በኢትዮጵያ በዓይነቱ የመጀመሪያ የሆነውን ኢበስ (Ebus) መሣሪያዎች ግዢ በይፋ አስመረቀ

ሶሳይቲያችን የካንሰር ህሙማንንና ቤተሰቦቻቸውን ለመደገፍ በሚያደርገው ያላሰለሰ ጥረት ውስጥ ከቢ.ኤም.ኤስ.ኤፍ በተገኘው የገንዘብ ድጋፍ አማካኝነት በአጠቃላይ ከ6.5 ሚሊዮን ብር በላይ ወጭ በማድረግ በጥቁር አንበሳ ሆስፒታል 15 የደረት ክፍል (Chest Unit) ክፍሎችን ሙሉ በሙሉ በማደስ እንዲሁም ብሮኖስኮፒንና በኢትዮጵያ በዓይነቱ የመጀመሪያ የሆነውን ኢበስ (Ebus) መሣሪያዎችን ገዝቶ ለጥቁር አንበሳ ስፔሻላይዝድ ሆስፒታል አስረክቧል። ይህንንም በማስመልከት ረቡዕ ግንቦት 10 ቀን 2014 ዓ.ም የቢ.ኤም.ኤስ.ኤፍ ዳይሬክተር፣ የጤና ሚኒስቴርና የጥቁር አንበሳ ስፔሻላይዝድ ሆስፒታል የስራ ኃላፊዎች በተገኙበት በይፋ የመክፈቻ ስነ-ስርዓት ተካሂዷል፡፡ ስነ-ስርዐቱ የጥቁር አንበሳ ስፔሻላይዝድ ሆስፒታል ዋና ዳይሬክተርና የኢትዮጵያ ቶራሲክ ሶሳይቲ ፕሬዝዳንት በሆኑት ዶ/ር ራሄል አርጋው የመክፈቻ ንግግር የተጀመረ ሲሆን የጤና ሚኒስቴር የበሽታ መከላከልና ቁጥጥር ቢሮ ከፍተኛ አማካሪ በሆኑት አቶ ለሊሴ አማኑኤል፣ የቢ.ኤም.ኤስ.ኤፍ ዳይሬክተር የሆኑት ፓንጃሲሌ፣ በማቲዎስ ወንዱ-የኢትዮጵያ ካንሰር ሶሳይቲ ዋና ስራ አስፈፃሚ አቶ ወንዱ በቀለ፣ በጤና ሚኒስቴር የበሽታ መከላከልና ቁጥጥር ዳይሬክቶሬት ዳይሬክተር ህይወት ሰለሞን እንዲሁም በጥቁር አንበሳ ሆስፒታል የውስጥ ደዌ ህክምና ክፍል ሃላፊ ዶ/ር አብዱራዛቅ አህመድ ዕለቱን አስመልክቶ ንግግሮች ተደርገዋል፡፡ በዕለቱ እድሳት የተደረገባቸው ክፍሎችና የተገዙ መሳሪያዎች ጉብኝት እንዲሁም የሚዲያ ገለፃ ተካሂዷል፡፡  

Mathiwos Wondu-YeEthiopia Cancer Society officially launched the renovation of 15 chest rooms at Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital and purchasing of Bronchoscopy and EBUS medical equipment the first of its kind in Ethiopia for the hospital by investing over 6.5 million Birr.

In our society’s wholesome effort to support cancer patients and their families, through the generous donation from Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation (BMSF), our society invested over 6.5 million birr in the renovation of 15 chest unit rooms at Tikur Anbassa Specialized Hospital and the purchasing of Bronchoscopy and EBUS medical equipment for the hospital. Hence, an official opening ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, in the presence of BMSF Director and officials from Ministry of Health and Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital.

The ceremony began with the opening remarks by Dr. Rachel Argaw, Medical Director of Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital and President of the Ethiopian Thoracic Society. After that Mr. Wondu Bekele Executive Director of Mathiwos Wondu-YeEthiopia Cancer Society, Ms. Phangisile Mtshali, BMSF Director, Ms. Hiwot Solomon MoH Disease Prevention and Control Directorate Director, Dr. Abdurazak Ahmed Head of the Internal Disease Unit at Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital and Mr. Lelisa Amanuel MoH Senior Adviser in Disease Prevention and Control of State Minister Office spoke on the occasion.

At the end of the launching ceremony, a tour of the refurbished rooms and purchased equipment, as well as media briefings, were held.
